Word Study: The Word of God =The Mind of Christ

Image
BYTES~ Word Study: The Word of God=Mind of Christ 1 Corinthians 2:16 For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ . This Is Truth= Jesus Is The Word of God The Word of God  & The Mind of Christ . Logos Theos=The Word of God.  Logos means  something said (including the thought); by implication a topic (subject of discourse) also reasoning (the mental faculty) or motive; by extension a computation; specifically (with the article in John) the Divine Expression (that is Christ); Word (Christ). Theos   means  God . The Mind of Christ = Nous Christos. Nous   describes   the intellect, that is, the mind (divine or human; in thought feeling or will); by implication, meaning: - mind, understanding. Christos   means  Christ, Anointed One, the Messiah, the Christ.  How can the Mind of Christ, Nous Christos,  be equal with  the Word of God, Logos Theos ? How can these things be? Well...

Be Still

Image
BYTES~  Be Still Psalm 46:10a Be Still, and know that I Am God. Two words. A profound statement:  Be Still. This is a Word straight from the Holy Spirit to your heart :  Be still .  It is a word in season with a personal meaning for the one who would receive it. For some,  Be Still , evokes memories of the struggle to do just that, to Be Still . Getting still before the Lord in order to hear what He has to say can be daunting or just plain difficult for some. You want to hear from God but… 1. Being Still long enough to hear presents a problem. The phone or doorbell has an uncanny habit of ringing right at the time you picked as your quiet time. Thing is, do not give up. Get right back into God’s Presence if you are disturbed. Or try not to set the busiest time of your day as your time with God. If this describes you then tell yourself that Being Still requires determination . You must become determined to have a deeper, more personal, relationship with Jesus...

No Schisms In The Body

Image
BYTES~   No Schisms In The Body   And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honour; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the Body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. I Corinthians 12:23-25 The Body Paul is referring to in this passage of Scripture is The Body of Christ , the Church; those who call themselves Christian . The Holy Spirit, speaking through Paul, wanted to create an awareness in the members of Christ's Body that they were not their own, that they were bought with a costly price, the life and Blood of Jesus, therefore members should not despise each other, gossip about each other, or believe that they were superior to another.   In Christ, we who believe are all One Body . Now, there may be days you d...

Do Not Be Afraid; Only Believe

Image
BYTES~   Do Not Be Afraid; Only Believe. ~Jesus Mark 5:36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the Synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” “Do Not Be Afraid; Only Believe,” are profound words to live by straight from the Master’s lips to our hearts. 'Heard’ in the Greek is ‘parakousas’ which comes from the word ‘¹parakouo.’ Para means beside or near , and akouo means to overhear, hear amiss or imperfectly . Parakouo thus tells us that Jesus was standing quite close to the ruler of the Synagogue and overheard when the messengers informed him his daughter was dead;  why trouble the Teacher any further? Bad news always impacts us deeply. It hits like a bullet train in the solar plexus. When bad news or sad news comes, we cannot help but react to it. The ruler of the Synagogue did when they told him his daughter had just died. Fear hit the rulers heart as only news of death can. He immediately lost all hope that Jesus could t...

Pray Without Ceasing

Image
BYTES~ Pray Without Ceasing A Fresh Byte  with   Meaghan Spies You Can Pray Without Ceasing 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 Pray Without Ceasing,…for this is the will of God concerning you. When Holy Spirit  first spoke to my heart many years ago regarding Praying Without Ceasing , I thought I had discovered the first error in the Bible. Surely God the Holy Spirit must have made a mistake giving this commandment, or Paul had heard Him wrong but decided to include the verse in his writings anyway because it sounded super spiritual. Nobody could possibly  pray without ceasing   unless they did not have kids or a job, right? But God never makes mistakes. Jesus, God the Son, will never tell us to do something He has not done or could not do. He is not the God who is impossible. He is the God of the impossible. So when Jesus instructs us to pray without ceasing , He knows as Believers we can fulfill this mitzvah, or commandment, through Him who loves us, who str...

Word Study: Hope

Image
BYTES~    Word Study: Hope By Meaghan Spies 1 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour and the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope. We Need Hope Hope is something we as humans can never do without. Hope is what keeps us going , what keeps us alive, what keeps us moving forward with purpose even when all seems hopeless. Hope is the foundation of our faith. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. A life without Hope is literally a hopeless life. God in His wisdom has given us of His hope to get us through each day and through life , and Hope does not disappoint because we know we are deeply loved . Romans 5:5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit  who was given to us. Old Testament Hope Tiqvah is the Hebrew word for Hope. Willing But Weak

Image
BYTES~   Willing But Weak By Meaghan Spies “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. ” ~Jesus. Matthew 26:41   You have purposed in your heart to spend more time in God's Presence and in His Word in 2022. You started off well on Day One. But it's almost the end of February and you just cannot find the time for God. You know you need God. That's what the preachers keep saying, but you find your need for Him is not as great as they said it should be. In fact, you wonder, rather cynically, if they are spending lots of time with God or if they are just like you, Willing But Weak. Well, let us answer that first. Jesus said, By their fruits you shall know them. When any Believer, preacher, pastor, disciple, teacher of the Word, leader or you, spends time with God daily, the Fruit of the Spirit will be clearly seen in that life on a consistent basis. Not perfect but clearly seen. But the Fruit of...
