Word Study: Triggering

Image
BYTES~  Word Study :  Triggering Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. Philippians 3:13‭-‬15 Triggering What can you just not forget from your past? Have you identified what triggers depression, anxiety, and fear in your life? What sparks of memory still trip you up so many years later?  Apostle Paul had trouble with his triggers in life as well. He had lived to persecute the church, having some killed, imprisoning others for their faith before he had his Damascus Road experience with Jesus. Some of his triggers were church  people rejecting him because they thought he was lying about his conversion. Many of his triggers were...

Image
BYTES~   Word Study: Paradidomi~He Gave His Life For Me I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me ;  the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.  Galatians 2:20 PARADIDOMI Gave Himself for me is PARADIDOMI in the Greek. Paradidomi is an interesting compound of two words: Para and didomi . Para> denotes being near, beside or in the vicinity of. Didomi> means to give, grant, commit, show or deliver (up).  Compound para+didomi and you get a word that means to deliver to one something to keep, use, take care of, or manage; to entrust to, to commit (something) to someone. Yet it also means to deliver up one to custody, to betray, deliver to prison. It  is used to describe how Judas betrayed Jesus to the authorities.  Paradidomi~  He Gave Himself For Me.   As you can see, Paradidomi basically means to give, or entrust, something...

ALLOS Another is ALLOS in the Greek and it means, another of the same sort . The night before Jesus was crucified, He said to His disciples that when He has returned to His rightful place in glory at the right hand of God, that He would ask His Father, the LORD God Almighty, to send Allos Parakletos , Another Helper, to be with them and with those who would believe in His name. Jesus kept His Word. The Allos Parakletos, Another Helper, the Holy Spirit was sent by the Father on the Day of Pentecost to dwell in and with Believers forever. BYTES~    Word Study: Hope By Meaghan Spies 1 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour and the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope. We Need Hope Hope is something we as humans can never do without. Hope is what keeps us going , what keeps us alive, what keeps us moving forward with purpose even when all seems hopeless. Hope is the foundation of our faith. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. A life without Hope is literally a hopeless life. God in His wisdom has given us of His hope to get us through each day and through life , and Hope does not disappoint because we know we are deeply loved . Romans 5:5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit  who was given to us. Old Testament Hope Tiqvah is the Hebrew word for Hope. W e live in the most amazing, anointed and powerful time in the history of the world simply because God decided to pour out of His Spirit on His sons and daughters.
