Don't Lose Your Faith

Image
BYTES~ Don't Lose Your Faith  By Meaghan Spies So Moses returned to the Lord and said, “Lord, why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it You have sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all.”   Exodus 5:22‭-‬23 There are times we know we are losing our faith. Things do not seem to be improving. In fact, it all seems stagnant, resistant to change; going nowhere . Actually, things seem to be getting worse , not better. You are resisting a spiritual heaviness akin to despair, doing spiritual warfare almost on a daily basis, yet nothing has changed. You feel drained, weary, tired of fighting because you feel you are always losing the battle. At those times we can definitely feel our faith leaking out .  A Tight Place Moses and the children of Israel were experiencing those same emotions, leaking faith, in Egypt. Now Egypt in the Hebrew is Mitzraim meaning a tigh...

Word Study: Childish

Image
BYTES~ Word Study :   Childish By Meaghan Spies Childish 1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man (mature in the things of God) , I put away childish things. Nepios  is the Greek word for childish . Nepios literally means not-speaking; a babe; a simple minded person; an immature; to act as a babe; that is, innocently; untaught and unskilled.  What Does God Have To Say About Childishness? 1 Corinthians 13:11 in the INT reads as follows: When I was a nepios (or child) I was speaking like a nepios, I was thinking like a nepios, I was reasoning like a nepios. When I became a man, I did away with the things of the nepios. The Holy Spirit , through Paul, is pointing us in a certain direction, the direction of victory and maturity through Christ Jesus in this verse. When tells us at which time. So Paul is saying that at one time in his life he spoke, thought and reasoned as ...

Word Study: The Riches of His Kindness

Image
BYTES~ Word Study: The Riches of His Kindness By Meaghan Spies But when the kindness and the love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit , whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of Eternal Life. This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly , that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.  Titus 3:4‭-‬8 NKJV Our God Is Rich The riches of His kindness . What profound words, rich with meaning because they are a true reflection of the nature of God . Our God is rich .  He is rich and generous in everything good. He is the personification and the source of abundant life . God epitomizes all you ha...

Word Study: Allos~ He Is The Same

Image
BYTES~ Word Study : Allos. He Is The Same John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever. ALLOS Another is ALLOS in the Greek and it means, another of the same sort . The night before Jesus was crucified, He said to His disciples that when He has returned to His rightful place in glory at the right hand of God, that He would ask His Father, the LORD God Almighty, to send Allos Parakletos , Another Helper, to be with them and with those who would believe in His name. Jesus kept His Word. The Allos Parakletos, Another Helper, the Holy Spirit was sent by the Father on the Day of Pentecost to dwell in and with Believers forever. Another of the Same Sort What did Jesus mean when He called Holy Spirit Another of the Same Sort ? He meant another who is the same as Him . Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Sp...

Be Still

Image
BYTES~  Be Still Psalm 46:10a Be Still, and know that I Am God. Two words. A profound statement:  Be Still. This is a Word straight from the Holy Spirit to your heart :  Be still .  It is a word in season with a personal meaning for the one who would receive it. For some,  Be Still , evokes memories of the struggle to do just that, to Be Still . Getting still before the Lord in order to hear what He has to say can be daunting or just plain difficult for some. You want to hear from God but… 1. Being Still long enough to hear presents a problem. The phone or doorbell has an uncanny habit of ringing right at the time you picked as your quiet time. Thing is, do not give up. Get right back into God’s Presence if you are disturbed. Or try not to set the busiest time of your day as your time with God. If this describes you then tell yourself that Being Still requires determination . You must become determined to have a deeper, more personal, relationship with Jesus...

Word Study: LOVE

Image
BYTES~ Word Study: LOVE Love Is A Choice, Not Merely A Feeling Romans 5:5 ¹(NKJV) Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. A couple I knew was having some marital issues. The husband, after another night of arguing, asked me what he should do if he had fallen out of love with his wife. I consulted with the Holy Spirit for the best possible response to his query. I told him, “ Love is a choice, not merely a feeling. There will be many days in your marriage when you will wake up in the morning and feel that you no longer love your spouse. That is when you must make a choice, determining in your heart and mind, to love your spouse. It is up to you to start each day by making the choice to love your spouse despite your differences. That is what love is all about.” What Is Love? ‘ ²Aheb and ³Agapao are two words used to depict love, the first from the Old Testament and the second from th...

No Schisms In The Body

Image
BYTES~   No Schisms In The Body   And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honour; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the Body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. I Corinthians 12:23-25 The Body Paul is referring to in this passage of Scripture is The Body of Christ , the Church; those who call themselves Christian . The Holy Spirit, speaking through Paul, wanted to create an awareness in the members of Christ's Body that they were not their own, that they were bought with a costly price, the life and Blood of Jesus, therefore members should not despise each other, gossip about each other, or believe that they were superior to another.   In Christ, we who believe are all One Body . Now, there may be days you d...
